4 months old!

Can you freakin believe it? Kennedy is 4 months old - what the heck! She will be 6 months, a half a year, in two months! Time is going way to fast! We had her appointment last week - including shots. Pure torture! Other than the shots she is doing great! The doctor gave us the go ahead to start rice cereal - so far she seems to be much happier!

Weight - 16 lbs (97%)
Height - 25 3/4 inches (97%)

She is definitely not a petite thing! :)

Kennedy is rolling over, still talking up a storm (to the point where we can't hear the tv), LOVES blankets, laughing, sadly loves to watch tv (even when we don't encourage it - she will arch her head/back so that she can see it) and she is starting to love her big brother. She will watch Camden now and will smile! She also was petting him when he went and laid next to her! Such a great sight! :)

Wedding Bells!

This announcement is a well overdue and most of you already know...Brandon and Lindsey are engaged! Wooooo hooooo! We are all super excited and happy for them! They have been together for a very long time - since they were 13! They are now 24! Wow - I feel old. My little brother is getting married!

Brandon asked her on December 11, 2011 and we are so excited that Lindsey is going to become a part of our family! I mean she already was, but now it is official! Thank goodness I will have a sister amongst all these boys!

They have set the date and Lindsey already found her dress (she is going to look absolutely stunning)!

Congratulations Brandon and Lindsey!

My first pair of Nike's!

Kennedy received her first pair of Nike's for Christmas this year. Thanks to her Buncle (Uncle Brandon) and Aunt Lindsey! Seriously, they may be the cutest darn pair of shoes ever! And check out the grin on this girl - those cheeks are made for biting! :)

Quick update on K: She will be 15 weeks old on Thursday (1/20). How is it possible that she will be 4 months old next week? Who the heck knows how long she is - but her poor toes are pushing out of 6 month pj's! Kennedy is talking up a storm - of course in her own language! But it is hilarious. I got a few minutes of it on video and will try to upload it! Just love her to death!

Camden is hanging in there! I still think he isn't quite sure what to do with her! One minute he will lick her and the next I think he looks at her and wonders if she really is staying for good! He is still my number one boy!

Don't even know where to start...

Yeah - so I have been slacking a little bit, well maybe a lot! It has been over 3 months since I last posted. I do have an excuse for part of that time - a little girl named Kennedy that entered our lives on October 7th! But no excuses, I created this blog for her and to keep everyone that reads it (which is probably no one anymore) up to date with how we are doing! I am going to try and stay on top of it!

I really don't even know where to begin, so I think I will just keep it short and sweet with some pictures! It has been a whirlwind couple of months with Kennedy's arrival and the holidays. We are so excited and feel beyond blessed to have this precious little girl in our lives.
Just a quick synopsis:

Full Name: Kennedy Leigh Dempsey (Kennedy is my grandmother's maiden name, Leigh is my sister-in-laws middle name)
Born: October 7, 2010 (via c-section - she was breech)
Weight: 8 lbs 7 oz
Height: 20 1/4 inches
Time: 11:28 am
Birth "short" story: Kennedy arrived via c-section on 10/7. A day after our 3rd anniversary. The c-section was a bit scary because she got stuck and it took some extra work on the doctors part to get her out. Then when she finally entered the world - she took a full 60 seconds to breath. 60 seconds felt like 60 minutes or more! It was a little tense in the operating room but as soon as she screamed she wouldn't stop. It was the best scream I have ever heard in my life! Other than that scare, she was/is perfect! Kennedy has had a ton of visitors and people around to love her.

At her 2 month appointment she weighed just over 13 lbs and was 24 1/4 inches (95% for everything). The doctor said she didn't expect a little baby with the size of her parents! She continues to be growing so quickly! Kind of makes me sad! But happy that she is healthy! She will go in for her 4 month check in 3 weeks and we can't wait to see where she is at now!

Her personality is priceless! She is a little lovebug but a drama queen all wrapped into one! She is very good at the pouty lip to the smile back to the pouty lip all within 5 seconds! Her pouty lip was a hit in the delivery room too - they knew she would be using that on us for years to come! She is smiling up a storm, on the verge of laughing, interested in everything around her, cooing/talking all day, sleeps through the night (knock on wood), loves her swing, etc. She is a little pistol too - don't let me fool you! Kennedy hates her car seat - and I mean hates! Yes - most moms are like "really? my kids would fall right to sleep" - not this one! So as you can imagine, we are always in a hurry to get in the car and go somewhere! And she sleeps through the night - but only in her swing! It is true that you do things just to survive! But I will take it, she is perfect in our eyes! I find myself every day having to hold back from squeezing her to tight...I just love her so much!

As some of you may know, it was not an easy "process" to start our family! I feel extremely honored to be her mom - she is such a blessing and I am so thankful for every single day that she is a part of our lives! When she smiles, she lights up the whole room and my heart seriously overflows (sounds corny but it is the honest truth)!

Alright, so that is enough for now! I could probably write all night but I doubt she would appreciate that!

Here are a few pictures, I will add more soon!

Need to catch up...

Yikes - has it really been since September 7th since I last posted anything? Sorry - I know you guys are just DYING to get updates from me! Hahaha! I feel like I do have a lot to catch up on though! This might be a long post with lots of pictures! :)

37 Weeks and 1 day: I am officially FULL TERM! Can you believe it? I can't. I must say that it feels pretty darn good to be able to say that though. And to know she is still moving around like crazy and from what we know is still very healthy! I feel beyond fortunate for this little peanut (she may not be so little though - since I am ravenous and feel like I have put on 50 lbs in the past 2 weeks)! As of now, she is breech. Very comfortable and doesn't feel like going anywhere. We have a scheduled c-section for October 7th! We will be celebrating our 3 year anniversary (October 6th) with a beautiful little girl coming into our family! We will see what happens - she may have a plan of her own and decide to come early or flip last minute and everything will change!

New Camera: Yup - I got (or should I say WE got) a new camera! It is supposed to be a joint birthday/anniversary gift for Greg and I both! But I don't know if he loves it as much as I do! I am slowly becoming obsessed with it. It is amazing and he did such a great job picking it out! Thanks honey - you are the best (even though I don't think you read this blog - ha)! I haven't had much time to sit down and read the manual and figure it all out - but so far I LOVE it. It has an auto setting which is nice so that I can go ahead and start taking pictures without being an expert. It is a Nikon and just the clarity on the auto setting is amazing! I can't wait to learn more about how to use it and all its features. Camden and Baby D might not appreciate it so much - but too bad! Camden already had a mini photo shoot - I think he is used to it now though! Here are a couple:

Baby D's Room: We got her furniture yesterday! OMG - I just love it! Poor thing has a VERY SMALL room - but at least she has beautiful furniture! Good thing babies don't need a lot of space - not so good that all their stuff does! I realized yesterday that it isn't our house anymore, it is all for her! Every nook and cranny of our small little house is full of her stuff! Not complaining though, I love it all! :) My mom and Greg helped so much yesterday and we got it all set up. I have lots more organizing to do and decorating in the bedroom but we are off to a great start! Thank you Mom and Dad - we absolutely love the furniture and know she will too (thank you for all the help yesterday too)! We really appreciate everything!

Some pics:

The Boys: Brandon is still with the Orioles and making his way around the country. He had his first start in Detroit and his first home start against Toronto! So exciting to see him on tv and playing in Camden Yards. He is doing a great job and we hope to see him on the field some more before the season ends! Michael is doing well down in FL. He is packing on some pounds, trying to get as strong as me! ha! But is running lots and his back is feeling good. Matthew is loving Mississippi still and made a trip to New Orleans recently for an Ole Miss foot ball game. Can't wait to hear those stories! He should be able to start hitting in a week! We also can't forget the little boys in the family that are excelling in sports! Jack and Wyatt's football season has started. Jack is playing for the Grizzly's again this year and is kicking some butt! He had his first official game last weekend. We can't wait to get out there and watch him play! Wyatt is playing flag football and is just the cutest thing out there! It is a pretty funny age to watch playing, that is for sure!

90th Birthdays: Two very special and amazing ladies in my life celebrated their 90th birthdays this month. My Grammy Snyder and Greg's Granny both turned 90. Long story - but after Greg and I got together, the obviously met. They discovered that they were born 4 days apart (my Grammy always making sure we know she is 4 days older) and very close to each other in the state of NJ! They have since become wonderful friends and they have a very special relationship! Cheers to 90 ladies!

Tex: Last but definitely not least is Tex! My new nephew that will be here on October 4th. Yup - he will be joining the family a couple days before Baby D! So exciting! Tex is Brandon and Lindsey's absolutely adorable four legged, furry little boy! There are no words to describe the cuteness factor that he comes with! We can't wait to meet him!

Okay - that is it! I warned you that it was a long one! You can wake up and get back to whatever you were doing before reading this novel! :)

Hello Baltimore!

So I received a very, very important phone call on the morning of August 31, 2010. My little brother, Brandon, called me and I thought it was just to catch up! Well that phone call ended with me in tears and beyond proud! Brandon received his first official call up to the Baltimore Orioles - he is now a Major League baseball player! Wow, just wow! Just crazy, right? I am still in shock - I knew this day would come eventually after all his hard work and dedication. I just wasn't expecting it that day, that call! I am so incredibly proud of him, happy for him, etc. A bunch of family and close friends went out to his first official game on September 1, 2010. Over the course of the weekend we all tried to get to as many games as we could! My mom, dad and Lindsey trekked it to every single game! We had family from Charlotte come up too! He hasn't officially played in a game yet, but his time is coming! He is just loving soaking it all in and learning as much as possible! As of now, he is #58 (29x2)!

Brandon - Congratulations! Words can't describe how proud I am of you! I know you have worked very hard and had some ups and downs over the past couple of years! But you never gave up and kept on pushing forward! Never doubt yourself - you really ARE that good! :) I love you very much! Now - can I just live vicariously through you?

34 weeks - a week late!

Well I have been slacking in the blog department the past week or so! Things have just been straight crazy lately! So much exciting stuff going on for the Dempsey/Snyder households! But I will go ahead and throw in a picture from 34 weeks - which was on September 1. I will actually be 35 weeks tomorrow! We found out that as of now she is breech - stubborn little thing! She still has time to turn but we will see what she decides to do! We worked on her bedroom and also got new carpet in the house! I am in love with her room - even though it really doesn't have anything in it! I can't wait until we get the furniture and can put everything all together! We still have lots to do - and a little bit more painting but this will give you an idea!
Here are some pics from 34 weeks (Camden wanted to join the photo shoot too). And there are also some pics from before (actually when they just started working on her room) and after of the start of her room! In case you don't know - her bedding is from Restoration Hardware and it is grey, pink and white! I will keep updating the blog with pics as we get things finished! I hung her curtains but didn't take any of those pictures yet!
